Welcome to Catskill Roasters
Founded in Upstate NY with the goal of roasting for the Catskill community and beyond, all roasting is done in small batches just outside of Tannersville, NY.
We live (and roast) by 3 key values:
Quality Beans, Available Now
We source some of the finest, ethically harvested, and unique beans available from around the world. Rather than buying huge shipments of beans a few times a year, we buy small quantities of beans frequently... because life is too short for old beans! So please excuse us if we run out quickly. There's more to come.
Freshness is Key
Most coffee you buy in the store is often roasted weeks, if not months, before you take it home. If you've never had the experience of enjoying coffee that was roasted 24-72 hours before you drink it, you're in for a treat. Because so much of coffee's flavor is released shortly after it is ground, we only sell roasted whole beans and encourage you to grind your coffee just before brewing.
Community Driven
We look at our business as a collaboration with our customers and not just a transaction. We want to hear your feedback on what you prefer in a roast and how we can help make our local community better every day, one cup at a time.

Roast of the Day
Organic Grade 1 Yirgacheffe
Medium Roast or Dark Roast
This organic coffee comes from Ethiopia's Yirgacheffe region, in a village called Beriti. The nearest town is Gedeb town. This coffee was grown at high altitudes ranging from 2200-2300 meters (approx 7500 feet) above sea level, in one of the world's best (and original) coffee producing environments, with red brown, well drained fertile clay soil. Temperatures in the area range from 22 - 26 degrees Centigrade (70-80F). The variety is Heirloom Yirgacheffe and may seem smaller than most beans you've seen due to their growth altitude and organic nature. The beans are washed and then hand selected to Grade 1 quality prior to shipping. We roast all our coffee in a Probat L5 roaster built in Germany in 1992.
